One-Stop Earth Shop is launching as an online upcycle, recycle, and sustainable shopping haven.

The mission is to change how people think about shopping, plastic, and the future of our planet.

Our current reality:

According to the United Nations, humanity is currently producing around 400 million tons of plastic per year. Only 10 percent of this plastic is recycled worldwide. In the United States, plastic recycling reached 8.7% in 2018.

According to Oceana, over 33 billion pounds of plastic enter the world’s oceans every year. This can hurt ocean life immediately, but can also hurt humans through the ingestion of microplastics.

A variety of ingredients in conventional cleaning, hair care, and skin care products have environmental or health concerns as well. In a study of 30 cleaning products, the Environmental Working Group identified 193 volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that could cause respiratory damage, cancer, or developmental problems in humans. The American Lung Association and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency also acknowledge these risks.

And that’s before we even start on climate change, which scientists have written thousands and thousands of pages about.

The need to reduce plastic waste, airborne pollution, and harmful ingredients is extremely urgent. We need to demand change from all corporations, manufacturers, and even small businesses. We can’t fix every problem today, but we can start making changes now.
